Obituary for Frances Johnson

FRANCES JOHNSON


Frances Johnson, 84, of Weston passed away at Norwalk Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, September 26, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Stephen and Margaret Kacerik. Frances was born in Webster, MA and graduated from Putnam High School in CT, class of 1947. She married her high school sweetheart, Matthew H. Johnson, moved to Westport and ultimately Weston where they raised their family. Frances worked for over 20 years at Weston Woods Studios and even appeared in the film “Corduroy” with her grandson, Erik. Frances was an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Weston. She loved her summers at her home on Cape Cod which included walks along West Dennis Beach. Frances loved to travel leading her to Africa and spending almost a year in Jerusalem with her husband after his retirement from the Westport YMCA. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Matthew Johnson, their four children Joyce Zukauskas and her husband Brian of Fairfield, Paul Johnson of Fairfield, Peter Johnson and his wife Carol of Bethel and Mary MacLean and her husband Peter of Fairfield, six grandchildren whom she loved deeply: Erik, Kyle and Karl Zukauskas, Jared Johnson, and Kelly and Brooke MacLean. She is also survived by her sisters Martha Bonneville and her husband Robert, Mary Vandi, Barbara Ives and her husband Richard, Her brother Stephen and his wife Joan and several nieces and nephews. She was pre deceased by her sister Pauline Beasoleil.

The family will receive friends on Sunday September 29 from 2-6 at Harding Funeral Home at 210 Post Road, Westport, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday September 30th 10:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church on Norfield Road in Weston. Interment will follow at South Cemetery in Pomfret.
