ELIZABETH ENGLER

Mrs. Elizabeth Engler, 88, of Southport, CT and wife of Mr. Henry Engler passed away on Saturday December 19, 2015 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT.

Elizabeth was born in Hungary on March 20, 1927 and was the daughter of the late John and Theresia (Polcz) Kleinhans. Elizabeth lived in Brooklyn, NY for fifty years and has lived in Southport, CT for the past nine years. Elizabeth was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a devoted sister, enjoyed cooking, and was a devout Catholic. Her memories of her childhood in Hungary were always present, providing countless hours of storytelling. In her later years, the thing she enjoyed most was seeing her grandchildren.

Survivors in addition to her husband include one son; Henry Engler and his wife Regina of Westport, CT and two grandchildren, Matthew and Marina. In addition to her parents Elizabeth was pre deceased by six brothers and sisters.

The Engler family will receive friends in the Harding Funeral Home 210 Post Road East, Westport, CT on Tuesday December 22, 2015 from 4 to 8PM. Friends are invited to attend a funeral on Wednesday December 23, 2015 at 11:00AM meeting directly at Assumption Church 98 Riverside Ave. Westport, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery 73 Greens Farms Road Westport, CT. Condolences for the Engler family may be left on line at www.hardingfuneral.com.
