Obituary for Maria Theresia Ehrismann

MARIA THERESIA EHRISMANN

Maria “Riet” Theresia Ehrismann, 88, of Weston, Connecticut, wife of Harry Sebastianus Ehrismann, passed away Sunday, August 28th at home in the company of her family.

Mrs. Ehrismann was born October 27, 1922 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands daughter of the late Antonius and Huberdina (Vissers) Stoopman and has been a resident of Weston for the past thirty-eight years. She was a member of both the Weston Senior Center and Westport Senior Center,as well as the Westport YMCA where she swam for exercise for over thirty years. Riet was also an amateur oil painter, enjoyed beading, cooking and baking, and won several awards for rug hooking.

Survivors include three sons, Anthony W. Ehrismann of Norwalk, CT, Francis P. Ehrismann of Norwalk, CT, Paul C. Ehrismann of Weston, CT; seven grandchildren, one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Ehrismann was also predeceased by two sons, Harry Ehrismann and Lawrence Ehrismann.

The family will receive friends and family on Thursday, September 1st in the Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Rd. E., Westport from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, September 2nd at 11:00 AM directly at Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 35 Norfield Road, Weston; entombment will follow in Willowbrook Cemetery, Main St., Westport. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (www.cff.org) or the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
